Creativity is for Everyone!
I recently read Josh Linkner’s newest book, Disciplined Dreaming, and found his insights very valuable. This book applies to solopreneurs, like myself, as well is large corporations. If you have to boil the book down to one essential point, I believe it is that “Creativity is for Everyone!” It’s not just for your marketing department, or the “creative types” down the hall. Creativity applies to the front desk receptionist, the new associate, the CEO, and everyone in an organization, including YOU! The book is chalk full of examples of how to apply creativity as an individual or a team. Josh makes a compelling case for why you must learn to be creative if you want to stay in business: Adapt or die, and creativity is the way to move forward. It isn’t an option, it’s essential to your sustainability and growth as a business. I think it is a must read for all business owners and employees in Metro Detroit. I hope you’ll be among them.
Turning Lemons into Lemonade
My third and final blog in this real estate series features a local mortgage professional, David Keblaitis, who is turning lemons into lemonade through new opportunities he has uncovered in the mortgage industry. Keblaitis recently purchased a license to offer a Financial Wellness Benefit Program through employers with 2-10,000 employees. “I wanted to cover all aspects of financial wellness for employees, including their home and mortgage, to insurance and financial planning, to legal advice on real estate, estate planning, etc. In today’s competitive environment, employers are looking for ways to offer value-added benefits with little to no cost,” says Keblaitis. The program is designed to alleviate the stress many employees feel over their finances, home and job due to economic pressures. Alleviating that stress through education and information provided by real estate, mortgage, financial, and legal professionals will benefit both the employee and the employer.
Prospects meeting professionals through video
I recently met John Richardson, who is the owner and creative director of a video production and marketing company called Motion Echo Media. John is in the process of obtaining a trademark for a video business card he developed. He brings business owners and professionals to life in a one minute video that can be used in an email signature, on a website, or in a video resume.
