We're facing an unprecedented time in the legal profession.
For the first time, the legal industry is not "recession
proof". Billing rates are being challenged more than
ever before. Clients
expect results sooner and for less cost. Competition has
increased both in sheer numbers of attorneys, and through
the offshoring of legal services and the use of contract
attorneys to lower legal costs.
Legal services are viewed as a commodity these days,
much like IT services. So what can we do about it?
I view these times as an opportunity to strengthen relationships,
both with clients and strategic partners. People still
do business with people they know and trust. If you offer
value and truly care about your clients and contacts, your services
will not be viewed as a commodity. But change is necessary.
Old strategies will not work in today's economy.
I've spent 20 years in the legal profession, 14 of
it in the practice of law owning my own family law practice and 6
of it in the business of law owning a legal referral practice. I've worked
with a team of trusted colleagues in small law firms, each
with their own specialization, who took good care of the
clients I referred to them. My brand is
solid as Your Legal Resource, because of the relationships I've
built, and the good quality services my team of attorneys
provide.
In response to current times, I've decided to expand
my services and be a Legal Resource to attorneys who
struggle with the business of law, either because they never had to be a
"rainmaker" before, or because they are so busy handling
the practice of law.
I am offering consulting services to attorneys
to equip them with the business tools necessary to sustain a viable
practice. I will tailor my services to the needs of each
attorney I work with, and will help with any or all of the
following needs:
-Identify and develop essential
referral partners beyond the legal community;
-Cultivate prospects and
long-term client relationships;
-Generate broader awareness of
your law firm;
-Navigate and
use networking/social media sites to your advantage;
-Develop contemporary branding,
newsletters, and client communication campaigns, through our
strategic marketing partners.
If you
or an attorney inside or outside your firm could benefit from these
or other services to enhance the growth of your practice, please
contact me. I'd love to talk more and see how I can be Your
Legal Resource and partner with you in the business of law.
All my best,
Lori
