Thank you for providing names of experienced lawyers who could help us with a non-traditional purchase of a house. We are recent transplants to South Eastern Michigan and had no clue whom to call when the need arose. After many frustrating phone calls to lawyers using the telephone directory we realized this method was not working...and time was of the essence if we were going to buy the house of our dreams. Thank you for the referral to an estate planning attorney. A few months from expecting a child, I felt that estate planning was an important topic to address with a competent lawyer. But I was at a loss for how to find one. I really didn’t want to look in a phone book. I wanted to talk to someone who has worked with or could confidently recommend a lawyer. I didn’t want to turn to some random lawyer to be my most trusted resource in putting together a plan for my family’s minimization of estate taxes and financial security in the event of a tragedy. I did not know any estate planning lawyers personally. So who did?

There were options without recommendations which just led to confusion and sketchy prices. There was no question in my mind about the direction I was taking with your referral lawyer. Dear Lori,

I felt so fortunate to run into Lori Williams that day at the coffee shop. I was going through a horrible time, contemplating divorce with my husband of 13 years. Not wanting to just go through the yellow pages, I had asked a few friends and co-workers if they knew any family law attorneys. This was difficult since I had to tell them why, and I really did not want everyone to know at that point that I was considering leaving my spouse. There were too many questions and I felt like the bad guy, wanting to leave him, especially since we have children who were 2 and 10 years old.
